Self-reliant India: Capacity will increase from battery to power plant, know the discoveries made by Indian scientists this week
New Delhi. To move forward in the direction of self-reliance, the most important thing is to discover new technology by the country or to improve the existing technology. The discovery of any new technology or method by the scientists of the country, which is capable of solving any problem of the country, helps a lot in making the country and the economy an edge over other countries and economies. This is the reason why the Government of India is constantly focusing on research and development along with the self-reliant campaign. Now the situation is such that almost every week scientists are coming out with a new technology. Let's take a look at the achievements of Indian scientists that came out this week.
Technology developed to increase the efficiency of thermal power plant
This week Indian scientists announced that they have discovered a technology that provides better protection for parts of thermal power plants. The Ministry of Science and Technology has informed that laser-based clad coating technology can increase the life of boiler parts by 2 to 3 times as compared to existing technologies. According to the ministry, in view of the increasing demand for electricity at present, shutdowns for repairs or damage to parts during work cause huge losses. To deal with this challenge, Dr. S. of International Advanced Research Center for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials. M. A team led by Sharif has developed coating techniques that help in increasing the life of boiler parts. This results in significant reduction in cost while operation can be continued for a long period of time. The technology has got an Indian patent. To make this technology economical, transfer of technology to industries can be done quickly.
Discovery of special composite material to increase battery capacity
In the energy sector, at present, maximum focus is being given on increasing the capacity of power storage i.e. batteries. Because with the help of this renewable energy can be promoted. In this episode, the scientists of India have achieved a special achievement. A team of researchers led by Dr Anshuman Dalvi of BITS Pilani has developed a composite material that can remain stable even at high temperatures. According to information provided by the government, existing technologies for energy storage have their own limitations, which include liquid electrolyte and the ability to operate in extremely low temperatures. In this direction, scientists have developed solid electrolyte for lithium ion battery in energy storage which can remain stable even at high temperature. According to the government, this discovery will prove to be very helpful in increasing India's capability in military and space.
